Help with vintage college flannel jersey

2 Attachment(s)
Recently acquired this at an auction, item was with some other vintage baseball and college items mostly late 1920s-30s era. I decided to take a gamble on it and pick it up, I cannot find any photos but I am leaning towards this possibly being a older University of North Carolina jersey. Jersey it tagged Davega on the tail as pictured but the main tag in the neck is blank and torn. Jersey is unnumbered as well. Any help would be appreciated.

You should Google "Davega" and learn about Davega Stores, a chain in NYC in the '50s. This is probably a jersey manufactured by a sporting goods company and private-labeled for Davega, IMHO, and could have been made in the '60s for them for a local team with the name "Tarheels"...

Style and cut of the jersey pre dates the 1950s has a small suncollar and is def. mfg in the late 20's to 30's I was hoping someone could turn up a photo to match it if it was a UNC jersey.

That does not explain the label...

With apologies, undoubtedly Davega was around way before the '50s. So, I stand corrected. The 'Tarheels' question is one that I will be anxious to see the answer to.

The easiest thing to do is contact UNC library and ask for scans of yearbooks around that time, or buy a couple off eBay.
