Question on Japanese Baseball cards/Booklet
2 Attachment(s)
Came across this Japanese card set from my clients house today. My research came up empty.
Does anyone have knowledge on this 12 card set from 1976 and Japanese PCL Booklet? Also what value may be on it? Thank you.. |
Neal I believe these carry the designation of JA 7. If these are blank back cards and measure 2 3/8 x 3 15/16 then they are of the 1976 Yomiuri Giants. The 12 card set in NM-MT condition lists for $200 or so. Though the value of the set does not reflect it, this is a pretty limited item.

Greg,
Awesome! Thank you so much for the info! They are all blank backs and conditions are pristine! Any thoughts on the booklet also? |
Hi Neal,
Not sure but according to the Japanese Baseball Card Guide there is no reference to the book. I will send this thread to someone who is far more of an authority on this matter than I am. You may have something which he does not know about. Greg |
Neal the 1976 booklet was the first in a continuing series of Japanese Baseball Guides produced for Americans by expatriate Wayne Graczyk. I have some of the guides as late as 1998.
I used to order them straight from Wayne using postal tickets purchased at the post office that could be traded in other countries for stamps. Wayne also used a fellow in California for a period to sell his annual guides. I see them trading on eBay for anywhere from $4.95 up, I would think the 1976 is worth $15-25.00. That is just a guess. |
