Saw this one pop up yesterday. Anyone here end up with it? I started out offering $250 on it and then asked for his number if he had one. I didn't hear back and then *POOF* it was gone.

I figure $250 was a bit low, but I had to start somewhere. Considering there is going to be some heavy ghosting underneath the tape with a crack of unknown severity there was plenty of risk. Any nails in the handle and a repair would get cost prohibitive in terms of resale, at least in my opinion.

Add to that the bat being from the mid-1940s and being clearly post career (and nearly post-death of Ruth) calling it a coaches bat would be wishful thinking at best.

Great color! I was afraid of the ghosting on this one since the rest of the bat has such a rich, deep color and figured there were probably nails.

I'm now glad I didn't go with a much higher offer as I think I would have been a little disappointed once I had it in hand as it really should be restored since it is in such good condition overall (except for the crack).
