I just won a Wagner!!!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/280957772928...84.m1439.l2649

I am so excited to finally own a Wagner! I have never owned one and what a break! I was lead bidder at $12,100.00 and the seller decided to end it early and sell it to me w/o me even asking!!

I wanted to meet him in person but he said paypal only. When I explained that you couldn't paypal more than $10K, he was nice enough to say "just send me $2500.00 and the card is yours"

I paypal'd the $2500.00 immediately and am waiting anxiously for my T206 PSA graded Wagner!

Yippee!!!!!!!!

Brian Van Horn 09-05-2012 01:22 PM

It will be mine, MINE, MINE!!!!!!!!

barrysloate 09-05-2012 01:38 PM

wonkaticket 09-05-2012 01:40 PM

wazoo 09-05-2012 01:43 PM

I'm not sure if this is the same seller or not, but wasn't there a thread or two about how this seller didn't actually have these cards....?

bigwinnerx 09-05-2012 01:49 PM

I don't know what the big deal is, I take $10k off finished auction prices all the time.

SetBuilder 09-05-2012 01:49 PM

Did you really PayPal the $2,500?

npa589 09-05-2012 01:50 PM

I hate to tell you this Dan, but I think you got shilled...

Vol 09-05-2012 01:55 PM

Looks like the seller just bought a couple tickets to WWE Raw today with your money already :)

You do realize that when the seller defaults, PayPal is going to have to fork over $2,500 for your loss.

Isn't this, in effect, defrauding PayPal because the buyer knows the seller is a fraud?

I love this post, I am the bad guy here, too funny!

bigwinnerx 09-05-2012 01:57 PM

Here's the card. Looks like he just pulled the image.

You are if you sent the fraudster money.

Did you?

maniac_73 09-05-2012 02:00 PM

Manny, Dan was being sarcastic in his original post. It was a joke

E93 09-05-2012 02:03 PM

I sent fraud alerts to ebay and never heard back from them.

You need a doctor.

Think about it brain child.

I am going to send this idiot money and wait forever for paypal to get it back for me???

And the Wagner auction has been reported several times along with the Ruth auctions yet ebay leaves it up because the scammer had to pay fees for final value. So if I would have sent the money, ebay and paypal would have deserved the loss.

Plus I think they have insurance for their losses.

cobblove 09-05-2012 02:04 PM

Man I got luckey. seller just wrote me back and said I could have it for 2400.00. Guy is easy to deal with. A++

What a seller not have the cards?! Why worry about such a minor technicality?

wonkaticket 09-05-2012 02:12 PM

I dont understand Dan did you get the Wagner or not??

Perfectly reasonable explanation. I just thought Paypal buyer protection would get your money back in less than a week?

Doctor? Maybe you can recommend me one?

I need my prostate flushed out. Too many chocolate chip cookies.

sportscardpete 09-05-2012 02:16 PM

Dan

Are you going to crack it and send it to SGC and see if you can get a bump? ;)

Thanks,
Rick

judsonhamlin 09-06-2012 06:18 AM

You can always trade it even up for a PSA 10 Art Shell rookie.

Delray Vintage 09-06-2012 12:18 PM

Great stuff

I heard he is selling the Mona Lisa for $5000, and Moses' personal copy of the Ten Commanments for 10,000.

wolf441 09-06-2012 12:22 PM

Don't buy the ten commandments copy. I have the original in my collection already! ;)

Then you have the one with the Eleventh Commandment that the stone mason couldn't fit onto tablets......"Thou shalt never buy a T206 Wagner from a vendor on the Bay. BST...OK but never the Bay." :D:D:D

I actually have a rare "Proof" version that contains 15 commandments. The last five included stuff like "Thou shall not pick your nose in public", so I can see why they didn't make the cut!! :)

It's amazing, the number of typos in the finished product. "Thou shall not shill" became....:D
