Frank Thomas Game Used collector

Hey guys. My name is Wade and I collect the Big Hurt. Always looking to add to my collection or help out others acquire a nice Thomas. Hooray for a game used section!

So far my Thomas GU collection consists of:
17 Jerseys
23 bats (4 hr bats)
2 fielders gloves
Balls from his three milestone games
8 pairs of cleats and 3 singles
10 pairs of batting gloves
25 pairs of wristbands
5 pair of pants
3 hr baseballs (#13, 327, 440)
7 hats
14 lineup cards
2 socks
1 belt
3 locker room nameplates
1 helmet

Thanks for sharing. Do you display this memorabilia in a man-cave or what? You could almost be ready for a pick up game with all of that stuff!!

Think he'll make it to the HOF? . . . Just kidding.

The old Reebok Pumps....gotta love em...

Here is a comparison shot for you guys. The wristband on top is the orignal size that they sent to Big Frank when the Reebok deal started. The bottom one is the size that they eventually ended on.

I imagine that when Frank got the first ones and put them on, he was like is this REALLY what you guys invisioned. Remember Reebok hadn't gotten into baseball yet (at least MLB).

I joined the site after reading this thread and the Shoeless Joe thread. I have to say you collection is impressive, and I like the fact that you have your own Museum to display it, as well as your museums own logo.

Love the Rookie Big Hurt batting helmet!
I wonder if this was the one that he wore on his 1990 Leaf rookie card?
This was always my favorite rookie card from one of my favorite sets from the era.

Wade, Awesome collection!! If you ever want to part with any of your Big Hurt White Sox GU items, please keep me in mind. Ive been looking for some of his items for awhile now and now I know where it all went to.

Wade - you have such a great collection from Frank. He is one of my favorites as I grew up in Sarasota, FL watching him play every spring training, and he lived in my neighborhood during several spring years. What probably hit me the most was your early year signature on the bat. I saw Frank play several times with the Sarasota White Sox (single A Florida State League), where he was there for a 2 week stint before heading to the bigs. On his last day, he signed a ball for me, which he wouldn't do his entire time there. Out of the 40 signatures that I obtained from him through the years, that was the only one that I could read his entire name - and he didn't sign it with "35".

What is the dating on the helmet you have? I had purchased one about five years ago that I thought was his rookie helmet from his call up, but I was just not comfortable enough with the provenance to truly believe it, and therefore flipped it.

If you ever want to unload one of his gloves, let me know.
