1978 Rose road jersey on eBay
 

Does anyone have any thoughts about this jersey / seller? Here are some of my nagging issues:

The seller boasts a COA from Dave Miedema yet the photo listed with the auction is not a COA from Dave, rather it's Dave's resume / personal information.

There are no clear, defining photos of the tagging.

The seller has 100% feedback but a quick check of his transactions show only autographs and cards (for the most part) being sold by him. I didn't see any game used / game worn items.

Your thoughts?

Have you asked for additional photos? If it were me I'd like to see a number of additional close-up photos, especially of the tagging and the stamp. Plus, Dave is fairly accessible via the GUF website (although I'm sure you've probably already reached out there).

Yes, I have asked for more photos to be posted. It just boggles my mind that the seller wouldn't have included photos of the most important jersey attributes.

There was a thread on GUF about this jersey, Dave actually called it out. It appears he now feels it isn't good. You'll have to do a search.

I agree with Ken, that I think there is a thread on GUU. I would have looked it up, but once again GUU is not working.

Should try creating a game used section here and bring the people from GUU over here?

The Mediema COA is dated 1991, and I believe his COAs back then were generic like that. There were no photo LOAs from anyone back then. Mediema himself is a highly respected gu expert (Huggins and Scott uses him to authenticate their jerseys, and used to work for MEARS), but I would ask him personally about the COA, especially if you plan on placing a bid. I believe there were a few cases way back when where his COAs were copied/ill-used by others-- but, as I said, it's best to talk to him.

double check with miedema to see if it is legit coa. or ask for assurance from seller that it will pass a recertification/inspection with miedema or your money back.

Dave Grob at MEARS is THE Reds game used expert. He was well know as a Reds specialist before he was hired by MEARS.

Dave Mediema was on eBay's banned authenticators list, so the jersey should get pulled just for that reason.

I'm surprised he'd be on ebays banned list, isn't he up their in jerseys experts.

Way back when, some of his COAs were missued and copied by the company that hired him. He's legit and his name is in good standing with gu collectors and dealers today-- but people should double check on his circa 1991 COAs. That's why I said the potential Rose bidder should check with him.

Tagging is all wrong. Wilson tag should be inside left front not in the collar. Year tag should be inside left rear tail, not outside.

The list I am looking at does not have Dave on e-bay's banned list.
