How well does psa report changes in grades?
I know peter is probably going to bust my balls on this, but how accurate is this process? If i have a psa 6.5, and psa bumps it on a review to a 7, do they reflect the changes on the psa pop report? In other words, does the 6.5 come off the psa pop report, and a 7 be added? I never submit cards for grading as i always buy graded cards, but i have heard a couple of differing opinions pertaining this.......

Good Question
Kevin,
I spoke with PSA at the national about this question and another that we all have discussed. If they upgrade a card they are supposed to adjust the pop report to reflect it. I had a few cards graded at the National and was not happy with the grades. I busted them and resubbed to SGC. I asked PSA to remove the Cert's from the pop report and they said they must have the label to do so. We all know that the pop report is inaccurate and most pops are inflated from multiple submissions. I am going to save these labels moving forward and send them in BULK !! |
I have always sent my cracked out labels to PSA and SGC. PSA has always updated their pop reports fairly quickly on this. (e.g., around the time that the submission in which I sent the cracked out labels is graded, the pop report is updated.) SGC is slower, but if I email Earl from SGC to specifically request a few flips be removed from the pop report, he will do it very quickly.

I always wondered if psa and sgc send the flips to one another when they are doing crossover grading.
