Explaining the Marquard comma error

Recently, I've viewed two t206 Marquard (portraits) with the comma error. Any ideas of what could have happened or explanations? Or could it have just been a simple mistake. Opinions or ideas are appreciated. Thank you.

Some would have you believe that they put a comma when they intended to put a period. I would be much more inclined to view it as an error if they had used a dollar sign.

The marquard isn't a "huge" error.....i think it's over-rated(just my opinion)....hope no one gets offended:o

I'm totally offended ;)

I agree that it isn't a huge error like Magie/Magee, but I personally rank it higher than ones like Leifield partial 'G' and Randall - Milwaukef and Mitchell - Toront_.

Thank you for the links and knowledge. Even though it is not the most rare variation, I still find it incredible.
Best regards,
