Getting Baseball hat signed Wednesday, what Pen?

I am going to a paid signing on Wednesday for Clayton Kershaw from the dodgers. I was able to pick up his stars and stripes hat from this year, so it is a one off. What type of pen should I ask him to sign it with?

Thanks

Blue or black fine-tipped Sharpie. Make sure you don't use ultra fine-tipped. I would have him sign it under the brim, right below his number. If the number is written in black, that is the color Sharpie I would use and likewise if the number happens to be written in blue (not as likely).

I agree with Scott. I'd go for the Fine Black Sharpie on this hat especially if the number is in black. In the future, if you have a dark blue hat like a Tigers or Yankees etc, I always like the way Silver sharpie looks.

Silver Paint Pen. It will look sharp without the bleeding effect.

On top of the brim if displaying.

Def on top of brim. Silver paint pen, out of curiosity, how much is he charging? Got him in person last year I believe when the Dodgers came to Target Field.

Looks like he's charging for Sm, med, and large items - $79, $89, and $119. Not sure I'd want to spend that much on him. Mike Trout is signing at the same place a couple weeks later for about the same amount.

Wow, yea that's way too much. He signs once every series, better shot at doing that. Save yourself the time and money.

It is a little pricey, but my time is very limited.

I will have him sign in Silver on the brim of the hat, anyone recommend a silver paint pen?

Thanks

I'm not sure if this was a game used hat or not, but it sounds similar to a situation I just had. I got the July 4th game used hats of two local minor leaguers with potential in a charity auction. They were having an aftergame signing that weekend, so I took the hats to get signed. As you can see, I chose to go under the brim and had them mark it as a Game Hat.

Here is what the hats looked like new, before being worn on the July 4th game:

And here is how I had them signed (sorry the colors are off, phone pic):

Jarrod,

This is exactly what I would do if a hat was game used. Very nice!

I picked up a silver oil based sharper to use. Since the hat is going to be displayed in am going to have him sign the bill.
