Heavyweight boxing champion James J. Braddock working construction.
He agreed to defend his title against joe louis only after negotiating a deal in which he got a decent % of joe louis future earnings in the ring. It made him a lot of money, but it was the only way Louis was assured a title shot at that time as it was customary for the champion to pick who he fought against. |
