1964 Topps Giant Cards
1 Attachment(s)
Is anybody else trying to complete this set in EX-MT to Gem-MT condition as well? Its only a 60 card set, but you'd be surprised at how it actually is to complete haha. The sheer size of the card makes it hard to collect!

64 Bigs
I have an ungraded set. I think the photos in this set are great . I assume the size holds down the price by limiting the market some

I agree...the pictures in this set are amazing. I think that if the set was produced in a normal size it would go for much more money, but than again that's why they're called Topps Giants!
Its pretty cool that you have a complete set...did you hand collate it or buy it as a set? |
I am selling a gorgeous set that I listed yesterday in BST.

Bought my set, and these packs, at the National several years back

One of my favorite 60's sets-great looking cards! I bought a complete set years ago when they were cheap, haven't kept up on pricing but do know a large supply of these was found a good while back (decades) which kept prices low for a while.

A great set. Here's what the box looks like

I like these cards and I have a set. I bought my set for $4 back in the early 80's. Does anyone else remember when they used to just about give these sets away? I should have bought multiple sets, but I just bought my one set and put it away. I honestly never thought they would be worth anything. Who knew!? Back in the day, the dealers acted like there was a glut of these and no one really wanted them. Did the set registry types drive up the prices and demand?

Did anyone see this ebay auction that did not sell for $199.95?
|
I have 57/60 signed.
Need Farrell (of course), Clemente and Boyer. |

is much tougher than Clemente and Boyer, who cannot be to easy themselves. |

Yes, I have been the underbidder on two Farrells and one Boyer which was signed in red ink. I have seen a few Clementes as well, all were personalized.

1964 Biggs
That's really a neat project Jeff

Is the figure of 8 million of these cards being found uncirculated possibly accurate? What was the possible production of regular issue 1964 Topps? It doesn't seem likely that friggen' 8 mil of these were just left in a warehouse. Makes me feel like none of these cards are worth any more than a 1990 Fleer common, and thats just not true. Is there an accurate (not gossip/heresay) account of the find of these cards?

Sold Boyer and Farrell about 1 year ago
I actually had 59 of the 60 autographed. My Boyer and Farrell were both in PSA holders as most others. About 3 years ago a fellow on ebay sold me a large collection. Asked me if I was interested in a 64 Giants set with many autographed for $500. I said sure and took a chance. Ended up being all but Clemente signed. The only ones not genuine were Aaron and Mays. All were mailed to the players in the late 60's, early 70's but those two were secretarial.
I can say with near 100% surety Clemente is MUCH tougher than Farrell. Not even that close. I have seen atleast 5 Farrells over the past 5 years but only one Clemente. There was a Clemente on ebay that sold a few months back but it was an obvious fake. George |
