After reviewing completed listings for George Browne (Washington Variation), I saw this:

How does this variation, that is rare, sell for only $3.82?

Auction ended early. Someone probably contacted the buyer with an off eBay deal

People are jerks and ruin auctions very smart contacting the seller to end an auction early. Hey, if you want something badly, doesn't hurt to ask.
