EBERLY & ORRIS Bat - Help Please
2 Attachment(s)
I am mostly a vintage card collector who knows next to nothing about bats. I picked up this 32" EBERLY & ORRIS bat at a yard sale because I had never seen or heard of this Mechanicsburg, PA, bat maker. I tried Googleing, but found very little re this mfg. co., which I sense is no longer in existence. Can any one tell me anything about this bat maker and the approx age of this bat? Do I correctly guess that "WILLIAMS STYLE" is a reference to Ted Williams and that this bat is of little value?
Thanks in advance, Val |
Those label stampings definitely bring to mind 1950's-era Adirondacks, so Ted Wms would be my guess.
Sorry, that's about all the help I can give. Ken |
This bat is from the late 40's or early 50's. The only value would be for someone who collected unusual bat labels, as most Williams collectors would be looking for major bat labels.

The Company is located in Cumberland Co in Pennsylvania which is near Harrisburg. They make auto parts and have done so since their beginning in 1949. Their bats show up from time to time.
The company in the 50's sponsered a couple of semi-pro baseball teams and had bats made for that purpose |
Ken, John, & Jim - Many thanks for your helpful comments and information.
