Ty Cobb SGC 1.5 (fair) Sovereign Back Red Portrait

What's the value of this card? I'll post a pic later. Back is clean - few creases on the front.

Need to know because I am selling it soon and want to know a price.

Does Sovereign back really make that much difference in price on this card?

Thanks - Mario

Also, I'll let you guys know before I list it - if anyone is interested just let me know.

Just a heads up since you're new, it's considered bad etiquette to sell stuff on the main board.

I apologize - at this point, selling is not my main concern here. I bought the card awhile back and never realized it was a Sovereign back until recently.. Just wanted help knowing the value. The two creases I mentioned are on the corners and don't affect the portrait.

I figured it's worth around $400 if it was a Sweet Caporal or Piedmont - does Sovereign bring the price up on this particular card?

Thanks again - Mario

You can check 'completed auctions' on Ebay and CardTarget.com for prices.

Sovereigns aren't a rare or scarce back. On a scale of #1 being the most rare and #39 being the most common, Sov 350 Forest Green is ranked #31/39, Sov 350 Apple Green is ranked #22/39, Sov 150 is ranked #26/39 and Sov 460 is ranked #16/39. After looking on the T206 resource websites and looking at mine -

It's a 350 Green Apple Sovereign.

Nice card. Definitely "loved" by its past owners, but its value is around $300-$350.

Although, prices have risen since. There is one on Ebay right now, in BVG 1.5 for already $415. Here's the link. The price will most likely even rise right before the listing is over.

Hope this helps!

The one on eBay has a red background that is solid, instead of showing white where the creases are... so I doubt the creased one would bring as much as the one on eBay.

Very true! Your Cobb is a little more worn, but no worries, it's still a nice card. I'm guess the Cobb on Ebay brings in close to $450, if not more. Your Cobb could bring in close to $400/.
