"Genuine" autographed Sandy Koufax ball??
Check out this brutal Sandy Koufax signed ball using this link.:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/300727286563...84.m1423.l2649 I e-mailed the seller as soon as he listed it to let him know it was fake. Amazingly this ball actually has bidders... His response was a classic: Thank you for your concern. I work at cambelback ranch where the dodgers do spring training and I have received personally several autographs in person from sandy and many other players. I did not buy this from anyone and can show several pictures from many of the people I have had sign my balls in person from Joe Torres to Matt kemp to Matt cain to Barry Zito to robin Ventura. Thank you for your concern. If you would like to see pictures of my collection I would love to share. Just let me know. It has taken me many years to collect my autographs. - thetrianalife I might actually believe the guy except the ball is still a brutal fake.... |

Oh man that one sux.
|
This is a classic example of "it's messy because it was signed in person" yet it was obviously signed very slowly.
You can't have it both ways. :D |
I am sure that he will not produce a picture of Sandy signing that ball.
|
Pretty sure that one will be pulled soon....that's not even a good forgery...
|
Koufax doesn't visit Dodgertown in Arizona. Guy is obviously lying. Koufax lives in Florida and is a regular visitor of Mets camp. Don't see him getting on a plane to go to Arizona. I never even saw him at Dodgertown in Vero and that was 10 minutes from his house.
|
Well, at least you can see it from across the room. ;)

Wow ! Really bad and you say it has bidders ? The argument for in-person variations is that they are "rushed" , incomplete ..signed quickly. That one is DRAWN. Must have taken an hour to do it. With regards to the snapshot of Koufax signing it. If he can produce a snapshot of Sandy hanging upside down and spinning in a circle at the same time while holding the ball and signing it I would say it has a chance

I checked the listing and am also surprised it has not been yanked already. I notice in the description seller uses the word "MOST" of his autographs were gotten in person and he has a robust e-bay feedback number of 2 !

Do they have any amusement parks there ? Maybe he signed it while he was riding a rollar coaster

Here is Sandy's real signature from two months ago. It's a virtual twin of the "genuine" Sandy in this auction. :p |

Here's the last 3 outs, and if you grew up a Dodger fan you can't help but remember Vin Scully's call of the final pitch since they used it as part of every game's intro. Two and two to Harvey Kuenn, one strike away, Sandy in to his windup, here's the pitch, swung on and missed...a perfect game!!

I forgot to add that poor Harvy Kuenn made the last out in two of Koufax's no hitters...in 1963 when he played for the Giants, and then again in 65 for Sandy's perfecto against the Cubs. I guess it's nothing to be ashamed of

The K in Koufax looks like the K in Ken Boyers signature:)
WHAT A MESS that ball is.... |

No need to worry any longer. That piece of art is gone.

I agree with the consensus that the auto is really bad. But Koufax does visit Dodger Spring Training in AZ. I have been the past three years, and he has shown up each year for a few days. I actually got some autos from him in-person the first year they moved out to Glendale. |
