Big mac 1969 with many A's including Joe D as coach
Here's a 1969 Macmillan Baseball encyclopedia, with many A's signatures, including Joe Dimaggio presumably from when he was an A's coach in 1969. Any hard to find signatures in the group? Vern Hoscheit was an coach for the 86 Mets;
There are a few I can't decipher and or recognize. Dick Wade Whitey Wietchmann? The signature next to Sal Bando: Bob ? The two signatures below Campy Campaneris: Jose? Bob? The signature just below Diego Segui ? Anderson The signaure just below Jim Driscoll? http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5450/7...5e94b3de_h.jpg |
Max,
Amazing find! Love the Joe D and Sal...very clean! |
Next to Sal...Bob Horner? I know it's not the right year, but could have been collected over time??? He was originally drafted By the A's in 75....not sure though...just a shot in the dark. The "H" formation looks right, but that's about it...

What happened to the photo?
Could it be Whitey Wietelman? Ken |
Next to Bando is coach Bob (Bobby) Hoffman.
|
The two names under Campy. One is Coach Bill Posedel for sure, the other I believe is Jose Tartabull
|
One of those below Campy Campaneris is
Bill Posedel. He was an As coach 1968-1972. Barnacle Bill. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Posedel Mike, You beat me to it. I agree on Jose Tartabull as well. http://i24.ebayimg.com/03/i/001/35/d6/dc46_35.JPG |
The player under Segui is Dwain Anderson, and the player under Driscoll is Larry Haney. I think that covers it. :D

Did you notice the similarities of the P in Jimmy Piersall and the D in Diego Segui.

Roberto Rodriguez or "Bob" in your piece is fairly rare, not impossible rare, but I've been an A's fan all my life and he only played 6 games in 1970 and I never got or saw his autograph.
Oyler died in 1981. Joe Romo was a longtime trainer for the team. |
