What's the deal with 1966 Topps 591 Jackson-Shirley?

So, I've been trying to pick up a 1966 Topps #591 Jackson-Shirley N.L. Rookie Stars card on ebay and noticed that it is going for MUCH more than other 1966 SP high numbers.

The average price for the Jackson-Shirley has been over $70 over the last six months, but other high number SPs are going for more like $10-15. Strange.

Anyone know why there is such a premium for this card lately?

Cheers,
Patrick

Murphy's

Patrick, If you want to find this card for $25-30 and fill your set, all you have to do is buy one for $70, and a week later they will be all over eBay for half of what you just paid for it:p

I've successfully employed this strategy several times when looking to close out sets...I'll bet others have too:mad:

I have been following this card for over a year and it always goes high. I would also be curious if it was replaced on a sheet and is much scarcer or what the deal is, but it is the toughest card in the set (any condition). The 561 Choo Choo Coleman card is also much higher than other SPs.

In addition to the 66T Coleman being tough..Ive found from exper.,( Ive put this set together and then sold or traded it about 4 times ! )..the H.Clarke is always a wanted card, also always had trouble finding Purkey and McLain

always

been known to be a very tough card. it was probably made in the same numbers as the other sps but it has a mystique to it and has since the 1980's if not before. It has always been the easiest card to sell from the set. I dont know why it has the reputation it does. I have bought several larger lots of 1966 high numbers over the years and have had as many copies as any of the other hi #'s. Choo Choo has the same reputation and I have had more of his Hi# then almost any of the other sps.
