Is this E-card authentic?
2 Attachment(s)
Hi, I don't know too much about the Caramel cards, but is this an authentic card?
Thanks! |
Looks like an E121 series of 80 or 120 depending on the back or w575-1. Not sure about the back you show.Looks authentic to me.

And any suggestions why it's slabbed as a "trading card" and not an E-series Caramel? Or is it they couldn't distinguish which series?
|
My guess after further research is that this is a W575-1 glued on to something else in print. They probably couldn't determine card type due to back.

The OPs card is probabaly an E121, they are the most common. But you wouldnt know for sure unless the back scrapbook stuff is removed, it could be a E121-80 or E121-120.
W575-1-1 is also possible (same quality photo as E121), but there is no way its a W575-1-2 (less quality photo), or W575-1-3 (different font, see below) http://centuryoldcards.com/images/checkkelly29.jpg http://centuryoldcards.com/images/checkkelly33.jpg a couple High Pocket Kelly checks http://centuryoldcards.com/images/19...llystrange.jpg similar card but not the same, this is one of those extremely rare (3 dif known) W575-1-3 cards, recently discovered |
Someone obviously sent it in for the autograph authentication only.

Thanks for the help everyone! Is it worth cracking out and removing the paper in the back? How would you remove it?
|
You could crack and soak but probably not worth the risk and effort. I personally would leave it alone
