In "Tip Top" shape?
Never done anything with D322s, although like their looks, but picked up a couple tonight in eBay auction when price seemed too good to pass up -- $187.50 each for two SGC 50s, one with perfect centering, the other very good. Price seems way low--even SMR currently has them going up. Do others know something I don't (not unusual)?

D322's have greatly slumped in value in the past few years. I remember when a few years ago SGC 20's would go for what you have paid for those SGC 50's. That said, I think you got a very good deal, as I paid more recently for a few D322's in lesser grade (SGC 40), but with just as good or better eye appeal. SGC 50's from that auction went for $220+. So yeah, a small score!

In "Tip Top" shape?
REA recently had the complete set including Wagner & Dreyfuss gross price $10k. EBay has a similiar graded Dreyfuss asking $4.5k. How does these two reconcile. D322's have slipped into the S--- House. When I purchased my D322 Wagner (SGC 20) I paid near $8.0k. Maybe its a reflection of the current Pirates over the last few years, as they to slipped into the S--- House. Or maybe its just the current situation. For one thing, recently, say the last 6-9 months, D322's have appeared out of the thin air.
INTERESTING COMPARISON FROM SCD: YR. NM EX VG 2008 $90,000 $45,000 $27,000 for the complete set! 2011 $120,000 $60,000 $36,000 for the complete set! Increase 15% 15% 15% Yet in 2012 REA auction sells (a mixed graded) set for $10. I believe the large volume of circulation of the Tip Tops has a major effect on their devaluation. What does some of the experts think, please comment. Thank You! |
