1980's Weis Winners Tea Disks
2 Attachment(s)
I recently came across a hoard of these somewhat unique disks and am trying to get more information on. I know that there are several different variations (Key Food, Superstar, Tetley, Our Own Tea) but the Weis Winners seem to be rather rare. The couple of unseparated panels that have sold on ebay have been quite expensive by modern card standards:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/320733620861...861%26_rdc%3D1 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Will-Clark-M...item4ab2d26508 I have an entire 1989 set of 10 unseparated panels. I also have several unseparated 1988 panels and a bunch of loose singles. Does anyone know anything more about them or have an idea what their value/demand is in unseparated form or of a complete set? Thanks for your help Christian |
Brett?
I have no info for you but I'd love to know if there's a George Brett in any of those issues. I collect everything Brett from his playing days but don't have this issue on my checklist and I've never heard of it before. Any help would be appreciated.

The blue discs on the right I believe are '88 Our Own Tea. I could tell you the other singles, if you can provide a larger image.
I would NOT assume that these are worth what you saw in the auction link. That seller got lucky, and these rarely sell for more than a buck or two, if they're raw. Your audience here is the Player Master Registry set collectors @ PSA. They will regularly pay $75 - $100 if graded 9 or 10. I had an '87 Jiffy Pop disc back in '09 that was the first graded a 10 by a certain player and I sold it for $300. Thats not uncommon. |
"Our Own Tea" is one variation... All mine are "Weis Winners". The blue disks are 1988 and the yellow ones are 1989.

OK. But the Our Own Tea, MSA, Tetley etc. aren't reallly "variations" of the Weis Winners sets, they are each considered a separate set.
