Reportable eBay listing?
As a new vintage collector and eBay buyer, I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this listing - and if it crosses the line:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VERY-NICE-19...84354250033876 This showed up in my searches and I've seen similar listings previously, where the seller says it's listed as a reprint because he/she isn't sure - due to the card being 'really thin'. And obviously neglecting to point out that the reprint stamp has been scratched out/covered up. A couple of months ago a batch of these were also offered with similar descriptions (not sure if it was the same seller or not) where the cards were in top loaders and there was something placed on the top loader to cover up the reprint stamp. While I'm familiar enough with these to know real from reprint, and this isn't a card I would bid on even if it was real, is this reportable even if it's listed as a reprint? Further, can it be listed as a reprint and still be titled a T201? Thanks for your thoughts! Greg |

It is NOT a 1911 card - reportable.

It's NOT reportable. He clearly says REPRINT in the description; therefore, the disclosure has been made.
It's not against TOS to sell reprints. |
Thank you for the replies/thoughts.

It's the same thing as selling a 2005 Ferrari for $20,000 on craigslist "AS IS".
It MAY have serious engine and transmission problems, but I'm not sure. It MAY also have serious water damage and I MAY not have the title to the car. When I turn the key, nothing happens. Oh, and it MAY be a replica...I think... You want it? Only $20k. Bargain! (Caveat Emptor) |
It is reportable:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/...sclaimers.html From the link above: Sellers are not allowed to: List items that aren't authentic List items if they're not sure if they are authentic In addition, sellers can't disclaim authenticity of their item by stating, for example: "I cannot guarantee the authenticity of this item, so please bid accordingly." "Vintage handbag Chanel???" "Looks like this could be a Louis Vuitton bag" "I believe this is painted by Degas, but I can’t be sure." "I got this from an estate sale, so I have no idea if it’s real or not." "The autograph looks real to me." "I’m no expert, so look at the pictures and decide for yourself if it’s real." |
