Huge collection in il for ebayer or dealer
Hey all.
First of all let me start by saying that I am doing this deal via third party to help out a fellow collector from down in IL. This is a large group of sports cards and collectibles that my cousin had accumulated in southern IL. He recently took a job for 2 years in Ohio and asked if I could help him find a buyer so I am posting this. There are over 500 sets, thousands of pre 1975 vintage with lots of stars (mostly lower grade), hundreds of signed cards, baseball from AS games, WS etc., bobbles, and dozens of wax and pack boxes. He is an auction buyer and accumulated tools, sports items, Scaffolding etc, buiklding materials, collectibles, books, etc. He took the job rather quickly and asked if I could help find an interested party. Most of the sets start at 1980 and go into the 2000s. He is supposed to forward me a list later as well as mail me the vintage stuff. The bulk of this deal is located at my brother's house and stored in one of his garages or buildings. He said there is an additional 100,000 or so cards or more (estimate) that has stars as well as commons. I do not have details of yet, but will post when I do. He wants this stuff gone and I have no interest in bulk or sets anymore. I will post or add info later as I get it and will take offers on his behalf. If a deal is made, then buyer will need to arrange for pick up in the Mt. Vernon IL area. Also a conventional pickup will not handle it. Need a small enclosed trailer or UHaul. He also will be willing to ship freight if buyer needs it and pays for it. Funds can be sent to either him or myself. If you want to send pay pal it needs to come to me. Bump to add set lists etc. Here is his email copy of sets , autos, and some of the memorabilia so far. Keep in mind there are almost 100 or so more unopened pack boxes, lots of vintage with stars, star boxes, etc. He says the list is 99.9% accurate. He sold a couple of items locally (they may have been removed from the list) before he moved the stuff to my brother's place. I will follow up this weekend with all of the vintage items once I receive them in the mail.

There are approximately 300,000+ unsearched set building lots as well as some near completed set. Also miscellaneous items such as posters, pictures, plaques, bobble heads, etc. spanning 3 decades at least. While the Majority of the bulk of this collection appears to be baseball, hockey, football, and basketball seems to be represented well also. Just received the vintage and some other items in the mail regarding this collection. There are over 1000 vintage stars, high #s, teams, checklists from mostly 60s. Some 50s through 70s. Most is baseball, little basketball, football, and hockey. There is another album of autographed cards with stars and HOFers. There is about 300 nice mid grade vintage commons from the mid 1960s. I will post keys later when I have time. He is looking for an offer on this stuff so feel free to message me. I think the vintage alone has an ebay value of around $2000-4000. Complete sets book around $16K beckett and I have no idea what % they sell at my guess is about 60% if factory and 40-50% otherwise. The unopened material is worth about $500-1200. There is alot of memorabilia and autographed material worth probably another $2-3K atleast. The commons and near sets material have no idea. There is alot of it. Lots of stars etc in it too he says. There is probably $20-30K material here if worked right. While I enlightened him on the fact he would be lucky to get half in one swoop, I know he doesnt expect retail or close. With that being said offers are opened. I will try to post scans of stars of vintage perhaps some autos. I am not going to stand behind autographed items even though I have some knowledge on them because they are raw on cards so adjust your offers accordingly. Most vintage stars are low grade to mid with average VGish.

OK about 4000-5000 vintage in ablums........mostly lower grade material, however some 60s and 70s in nicer grade. I would guess somewhere around 1000-1500 or more are stars, high #s, Sps, LL, CLs, hometown heroes. These are all over the board. Here are the major keys I see with grades in no particular order:
