OT: Fountain Pens
 

I write with a fountain pen at work, albeit a cheap, disposable one (Pilot Varsity). I'm looking for a nicer one with refillable cartridges (not too expensive though) that would produce writing similar to this:

I know a lot of the look is in the actual writing, but the tip on my pen cannot get me this. Mine comes out much more uniform, not demonstrating changes in speed or pressure. I'd like one that does. Thanks, guys.

I have seen them at estate sales go to auctionzip.com and do a zip code search for your area with fountain pen as criteria.

In order to write in the way you desire, the pen nib must be very flexible. Modern fountain pen nibs are stiff--except for some very expensive pens, they no longer make the type of nib you want.
You'll need an antique pen--there are many antique pen dealers and collectors on the web who can help you.

I use a fountain pen... Waterman with Noodlers Ink Forest Green. :D

Noodlers Ink makes pens with "flex nibs." I'm pretty sure it is what you want. I've never tried them, but you can see a video and get more info here:

Cool, thanks Steve! I just ordered one of the Noodler's flex pens. It'll be a good test to see if I want to spend some real money on a nicer antique flex tip.
