Are there fakes of these cards out there?

ullmandds 05-02-2012 08:25 AM

as far as I know only hand made copies...no repros were made.

The fakes that I'm thinking of are most likely hand-made and not mass produced.

One of this hand-made Ruth sold on ebay not to long ago for over $700.00 (Poor fella) . The card was most likely returned to seller, there wasn't any feedback from the buyer.

Fake Maple Ruth's now graded, Beware!

This AGS graded Ruth is a reprint (fake) and should be removed from eBay.

Here’s the same reprint/fake maple Ruth that sold last week in a Pro holder. I contacted eBay regarding this fake, they did nothing!!!

Friendly warning!

Yep, sadly if the card has a value of 100 or more there is more than likely fakes of it out there. Heck if the card has a value of 20 or more there could possibly be fakes. Just be carefull on what you bid on.
Oh and I wouldn't trust any card grading services other than PSA, BGS, SGC, and GAI. Heck, even they get it wrong sometimes!
