Great stuff guys!
Brandon, was that framed hollow baseball display custom made? |
I started shifting a lot of my collecting focus over the last couple years to the Beatles. So my Baseball collection has been trimmed down in order to accommodate (financially speaking) my Beatles collection.
Here's what I have left... http://tinyurl.com/66pd5g |
Well, if you trim any more... I call first dibs on the Boston related shots. Outstanding Jimmy!

While my "online collection" isn't vintage, it is vintage inspired - I'm digitally creating the baseball card set I always wanted when I was a kid. I draw a card and write the story of a player I always wanted to have or know more about. This forum has been a great reference for me because I tend to depict players on obscure teams and there are so many great collectors here that I'm always finding the right photo to base the uniforms on. Plus a few of the fellows on Net54 have suggested players that should be included. So far I think I have over 115 and here are some of the cards I've done:

Wonderful job Gary! Those cards are absolutely stunning!

Same for the others shown. Thanks all..... Here is my link below with most of my collection. I have some memorabilia sprinkled in at bottom....scans under each description...I told a friend yesterday and he said he had looked at the site several times but didn't realize he should click on each description to see the cards and stuff... http://luckeycards.com/personal.html . |
I own www.mcgwire.com and some of my McGwire stuff is on there at Randall's Collection. I know, I know, he cheated. But I was collecting before that.
Hey Brandon I recognize that stub from your birthday! |

They did an interesting analysis on MLB Network, demonstrating that a huge percentage of Pujols' home runs at Busch landed in the first two rows in left-center field. Since Anaheim's fence is 10 - 12' deeper at that point, these are now warning track outs (at home, anyway). This wasn't the only reason for his decrease in production.... just a significant factor, they said. His 2012 numbers would actually be acceptable at Bush Stadium (with the shorter porch). On a separate note, those Nodders are great! I especially love the diving Torii Hunter :) |
Here is some of my collection...
I created this website for fun. I also try and use it as an outlet to buy. Love me some original photos hint hint :) http://weingartensvintage.com/Home_Page.html |
Rob, I've heard that before about some of the bat experts not liking the way the pine tar looks. But that is pretty hard to disect. If the bat is 34 1/2 inches and has the right stampings then its his bat. The only other thing I will say is that he ordered over 260 bats from 1998 so I don't think he used them all. Many were given away with hardly any use. I think some were doctored up at some point. I know that the bats I saw in museums that were used to hit certain HRs were really tarred up. He tended to use them until they broke or went to a museum.

The site below shows my collection of Sandy Koufax game-used and other memorabilia. While I do have some other Dodger items, he has been my main collecting focus for quite a while.

While not about pre-war or Cards per se, my website has been live now for 11 years. Averages about 25-30 hits a day during the "off-season," and about 200+hits a day during college football. Exemplifies my love of the old Southwest Conference:

http://swchelmets.tripod.com/virtualmuseum.html I have more in my collection than those pictured. I need to get current! The 1985 TCU helmet is now in the SWC wing of the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco, Texas. I have on long-term loan about 30 pieces of my SWC collection there, including Eric Dickerson's road tear-away jersey. |
