1932 U.S. Caramel Bill Terry on Ebay

Do you think this card is authentic or a reproduction? Ebay item #160785944074.

Thanks,

Tom

Doesn't quite feel right judging by her relatively low feedback and some of the higher dollar cards she has listed (without establishing a track record as a seller) I would be weary.

The blank back doesn't make sense either. All of the 1932 US Caramels I have researched have stats on the back.

Two things;

1) Are US Caramel cards like Cracker Jack cards in that the white borders should blend seamlessly into the white jersey top? If so, then, from the looks of that card, they don't.

2) Aren't most of the cards that seller has listed HIGHLY subject to being reprinted?

I look at that Bill Terry card (and the other cards) and they ALL seem to have muted colors (like reprints do).

I don't know. Is that just me?

The 1954 Wilson Frank's card she has listed is graded by a ccg given a grade of good. Never heard of ccg.

Even if any of them are real, they all look massively trimmed. The only one that looks at all close to real is the "signed" Mantle. But considering the others I wouldn't bet on either the card or the signature.

I'm amazed at the bids on cards that are so badly damaged.

Lucky me--

Reading this now, I'm glad I didn't bid on it.

Having no '32 U.S. Caramels, I just assumed this was real.

Another lesson from Net54; thanks.

When buying on Ebay stay away from these deals:

Seller with a low number of transactions selling old cards they just purchased at an estate sale. Never a good combination!
