Its a cricket ball

I was also thinking it might be a cricket ball. There isn't enough information there to determine it's a town ball- just a single photo and not much else.

deebro041 04-08-2012 06:34 PM

To me it looks too soft to be a cricket ball. I have had contact with the seller and i believe it is legit.

I hope you are right, but I would bet $ it is a cricketball. Do they offer a return policy?

I don't think it's a lemon peal design-- though 1800s baseballs came in several different designs.

Dan, i was going to buy it before you, but wasnt happy with there answers. Her one answer was, others have listed these old balls with one photo. She told me the other side was a near duplicate of side shown. Good luck, i hope it is , but i was sceptical thinking also it was a cricket ball.

The white fluffy cotton stitching is not what was used in the mid to late 1800's, I don't think. Is it rock hard (cricket), or softer (playground, softball, baseball)? what is circumference (looks too big around), and the stitching just reminds me of turn of the century to 1920s.
