1907 NY Giants Folding Postcard With John McGraw

1 Attachment(s)
I recently picked up this cool looking 1907 NY Giants folding postcard with a picture of John McGraw on the front. This postcard also has a schedule and advertising on the two inside panels. Has anyone seen a postcard like this before? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Jeff

I think it is a condensed version of the larger foldout postcard...

At first glance, I thought maybe it was the same as the above postcard just with the other pieces missing (shown here intact)...

however yours actually looks like they used McGraw's photo as the outside cover (schedule found on back plus the brown color tone) instead of the Polo Grounds. That's why I think yours is actually a condensed variation. Nice pickup.

Hi Jeff,

I had it for a long time. I purchased it from Frank Ward years ago. He had it listed as an uncatalogued piece. I think Baseball Mail PCs surfaced after that, but I was never sure if it was part of that issue with the fold outs since it had what looked like a different back side advertisement.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy it. It was always one of my favorite pieces.

The ad looks like the same, the foldout one above is just blank while Jeff's is imprinted with an ad.

Definitely related, but two different postcards.

Gotcha. Thanks Jeff.

It might just be missing the foldout? I'm not sure.

I thought that too Rob, but the NL schedule is on the back of the Polo Grounds section in the foldout one and not the McGraw like your (and now Jeff's) postcard.

Edited to say I see Jeff has it now, and Robert had it...
sorry for all the reposts of the pics.... my computer laded the pics slow and I only saw the long complete one at first

Its a very rare card... I had 1/2 of the cover of it a while back

I see its actually full of pics too so will need to change my info....

I have it listed as

1907 (PC-Unc.)
"Base Ball Mail Card"
New York NL Postcards

this is the info I have for it... The rare "Base Ball Mail Card" postcard unfolds to show a New York NL Schedule and an ad for "Chas Wiener Custom Taylor Shop". It is unknown if other players exist in this series.

PS I also have info of a postmark of June 20, 1907 NY, I have seen it one other time, but for some reason didnt know about the images inside until now.

I see now there looks to be 2 types, at the time I picked it up I though it was complete but if I remember right someone told me after I sold it that it was supposed to have more to it, so I assumed it was missing something in the middle area.... wish I saved more of the info on it.

this is only the 3rd time Ive ever heard of these... always learning something new :)

Thanks Frank. Yeah I got it from you a while back.

Complete or not, I think it's pretty cool and obviously there's more to it than most PCs. And pretty cool that it's 1907.
