Is this seriously what card graders are doing now...
I know this has nothing to do with vintage cards, but it can definitely happen with pre-war. Are these card graders just dumb as heck! Seriously, how do you certify a facsimile as an authentic autograph!?!? This is just getting ridiculous:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=260979657014 I wonder if anyone has ever come across this for a '55 Topps or any other year with a facsimile. Hell, or even a T205, might as well send in my Hoblitzel and Myers to JSA, they may slab it. |
I hope it is just hand signed on the back and not pictured..... If not - wow..
|
no kidding that's what i was thinking as well lol. that's just scary. unless some idiot got it signed in pencil haha
|
From what I read online the autographs are real, are you saying that isn't the case? I don't collect modern cards so I don't know either way.

I don't know about this set in particular but I guess bowman chrome includes cards with real and printed signatures. The sellers pictures don't really help.
Here is a post I found talking about the difference- http://prospectforprofit.com/?p=921 So blue ink is a true signature and black is printed? printed example http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-Bowman-...item19ceb7d4df real example http://www.ebay.com/itm/Joba-Chamber...item2c63ccede4 |
Here's another Freeman that's also slabbed by Beckett but doesn't list that its signed.
Are they the same? http://i.ebayimg.com/t/2007-Bowman-C...JnQ~~60_57.JPG |
A good checklist is here, Freeman isn't in the autograph set.
http://www.sportscardradio.com/index...raft-checklist So unless it's on the back that's a big mistake. Steve B |
I know we are talking about 2 different authenticators/companies...
but this one really made me laugh OUT loud!!!:) PSA/DNA slabbed authenticated Ty Cobb laser printed fake..... http://haulsofshame.com/blog/ read all about Spence's so called "experience" farther down the blog under "Pillars of Integrity" "Before James Spence became an authenticator he worked as a fitness instructor at Club Med and for Cunard Cruise Lines, as a salesman for American Van Equipment and as a ladder salesman..." he may have more experience selling Ladders ;) |
The bgs pic is a facsimile. Freeman does not have an autographed version for the set. Emailed seller and he said "its on the right right,.and that's why it say jsa.". Haha what a joke

The scan is awful but it looks like there might be a smeared signature in blue ink running vertically along the right side of the card. It almost blends right into the outfield wall. Maybe a clumsy in person signature, I don't know. |

Yeah this card is DEFINITELY signed In Person on the right hand side going up vertically, its tricky to see if ur not looking for it.
No conspiracy here, move on:rolleyes: |
an authentic fascimile maybe???

wow, don't think that's worth $30 or so to get it certified when you can hardly see the auto lol
