B & L winners

How didya'll do?

It's still early here on the west coast:D

Looks like my bid for an upgraded T205 Duffy was a winner.
My only lot of the night, but I like it and happy with price:)

Some cool cards...who got 'em?

wonkaticket 03-04-2012 12:11 AM

Great job to Scott & Leon! It's so nice to have something with an ending in sight vs. being up till 5-6am on a weekday.

Won a few lots all good stuff. Once again solid ending time love it!

Cheers,

John

t206hound 03-04-2012 08:15 AM

Big loser!

I lost out on four lots (as usual). If the winner of lot 137 wants to unload the Wasington Park postcard, send me a PM.

T206 sweeney

Thanks Mike:D

CharleyBrown 03-04-2012 08:45 AM

If the winner of the 1948 Swell Sport Thrills would like to break up his/her new set, I would love to purchase the Jackie Robinson.

danmckee 03-04-2012 08:46 AM

I won the neat Bender notebook card and the Davis T207. I finished 2nd on the E122's. I really wanted the Walter Johnson so whoever out gunned me on that, if you are going to break it, please keep me in mind.

I wanted the Ruth baby photo and forgot to leave a ceiling on that.

My wife threw me a surprise 50th birthday party and I had no clue!

Thanks to Jim Rivera and his lovely wife for attending! That was very nice Jim!!

Where the heck were the E122s?

MVSNYC 03-04-2012 09:44 AM

Johnny- i was the underbidder on the Sweeney. you're lucky I'm in Italy this week and fell asleep when i did (we're 6 hours ahead of EST), or i would've pushed it more ;)

congrats.

danmckee 03-04-2012 09:45 AM

The giant scrapbook full of them.

It seems they hit ebay and a relative pulled them

Glad they showed up here so I could have a fair shot

I found a thread on them when they hit ebay, here on NET54

If it is the same find

Captured Cracker Jacks

This was my first bidding experience with B & L, but I'll definitely be back. I friggen love their definitive end time. Why the heck hasn't it caught on elsewhere?!

I'm now the proud owner of these two beauties:

Johnny - nice pick-up on the yellow/brown Sweeny! I thought I had the Elberfeld, but it got kind of crazy yesterday.

Still, picked up an RPPC with Kid Nichols that will be a nice addition to the postcard page on my website.

For some odd reason, I liked it because it was made from a cracked glass negative. Kind of cool:

Great pickups, everyone!

Nice pickups everyone!!

I waited until the last few minutes and when I bid my account wasn't approved yet :(

tbob 03-04-2012 12:45 PM

I lost out on the E100s and the Home Run Kisses Van Buren. The E100s went for more than they have been selling for lately on ebay but are still less than a couple of years ago. Very nice Frank Nagy cards and congratulations to the winners.
Nice auction Leon and Scott, great selection of cards.
P.S, If the guy won won the D311 lot of 8 cards wants to sell the Agnew and/or Pernoll, please let me know.

Me too. I really like RPPC's of teams from the turn of the century. A snapshot in history. Plus this Minor League PC had 17 players make the show. Hard to find that many on one card. Leon, Another well run auction. I just wish you lived farther away. Texas state tax. :)

z28jd 03-04-2012 08:11 PM

I think the real winner is whoever owns that "puzzle" of four backs they described in that Bender auction that Wonka won! They should be on the phone calling him right now at that price!

CW 03-04-2012 09:59 PM

Congrats to all the winners and thanks for posting your new pickups. It's also nice to see Scott & Leon's endeavor doing well -- you run auctions the right way and you're bound to succeed. Keep 'em coming!

cfc1909 03-05-2012 08:36 AM

The interesting thing about the yellow brown scraps is they don't come with 350/460 factory 30. These cards never got their final colors added and they never got the scroll and factory 42 printed on them.

Sweet Caporal has 4 different backs in the last series. If you put together a back run of Elberfeld Washington you will be able to find 3 of the 4 SC backs in the last series. The only way you can get a factory 30 is with the printers scrap.

I'm quite certain Wonka included a y/b scrap in his run for this reason. Very neat.
