Feel like drooling, signed pre-war cards!
Let's see some signed pre-war cards!
It's not a beauty, but I'll take it! http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...pictureid=6041 http://www.net54baseball.com/picture...pictureid=6040 |
What's not a beauty? Did you mean to post a photo of something?
Here's a beauty I don't share all that often... <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/-szJrqykFWp6tqA8NOvA-HY2VLgy2RG_a1rPg51wK6M?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-wIRd5GGm68w/RxQJq3tTj_I/AAAAAAAAB5Q/D1-LmqNumJU/s800/Leifield%2520T201%2520Auto%2520SGC%252050.jpg" height="800" width="448" /></a> |
Took this in a trade last year. Only signed card in my collection. I've always liked this Diamond Stars card of Gehringer.

signature
I've always loved Gehringer's signature...so neat and collective...thanks for sharing, Kevin.
|
I have to agree, I love his signature, here's another and one of the only autos in my collection-

Kevin - love that Gehringer auto! If you ever want to sell it, please let me know. I'm working on an autographed Diamond Stars set and that Gehringer is a beauty!

HOF auto
206collector....how many tobacco card autos do you have? I know that these autos are your primary collection and it has to be quite impressive.
Thanks, Mike |

Man, that Charlie Root is killer.
Here are mine. Three T206's and a Doyle/Smokey Joe signed Loughlin from the 70s. I know not pre-war, but thought people would like to see it. http://s107.photobucket.com/albums/m...yDoyleauto.jpg http://s107.photobucket.com/albums/m...ifieldAuto.jpg http://s107.photobucket.com/albums/m...rideSigned.jpg http://s107.photobucket.com/albums/m...Doyle-Wood.jpg |
Great cards, guys! Here are a couple from my signed Diamond Stars collection:

Thanks for the kudos! I have 39 different signed T206s, and a little over a dozen dupes. And I am always on the lookout for more!! :D |
Paul,
Did you ever snag that signed T206 Rucker I auctioned off a few years ago? I once had 10 different signed T206 cards and that was one of them. |
T206 Rucker
Yes, I did, in a trade with the late, great Betty Dragon. I picked up a really nice signed T201 Rucker and sent it her way.
|
Wow, when did she pass away? I believe the original owner told me he had it signed in Montana of all places.

Betty's Rucker
Here's Betty's Rucker...
<a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/57kshxikPOts4ozRow9IpTiJm_Z5QsNdec5_I7WHZRE?feat=e mbedwebsite"><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-agHqAGisSUE/SqcQ9l-7M3I/AAAAAAAAHS4/p5aYz8EwVrQ/s800/Rucker%2520Portrait%2520Auto.jpg" height="647" width="800" /></a> I believe she passed away a little over a year ago, from a quick onset abdominal cancer of some sort. Her family was, naturally, devastated. Her son said that the signed Snodgrass she got in the same auction as the Rucker was one of her favorite cards, as she had it visible on her desk when she passed. Fortunately I was able to track down another signed T201 Rucker in Phil Marks' collection, and picked it up in a trade: <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/1wdvNNA2rblRoKbsg_7ysHY2VLgy2RG_a1rPg51wK6M?feat=e mbedwebsite"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-SA0ibsWldd0/S7FFPL4wqaI/AAAAAAAAHxs/hSZKys463Y8/s800/Rucker%2520T201%2520Auto%2520SGC%252060.jpg" height="800" width="450" /></a> I really love my signed T201 collection. In addition to the Rucker and Leifield I've posted above, I also have these -- including a double-signed, double-folder! <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/JCdlbFV4c13KTHQpTmmXa3Y2VLgy2RG_a1rPg51wK6M?feat=e mbedwebsite"><img src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-q_Lx-NqpnDA/RxQJqntTj-I/AAAAAAAAB5I/DzrOKNwfz3k/s800/Doyle-Meyers%2520T201%2520Auto%2520SGC%252040.jpg" height="721" width="800" /></a> <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/l21KbszBvm-atvUKl8_sLHY2VLgy2RG_a1rPg51wK6M?feat=embedwebsite "><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-VTXVNE7BQqw/RxQJrHtTkAI/AAAAAAAAB5Y/ENFTUHKJm_U/s800/Wheat%2520T201%2520Auto%2520SGC%252050.jpg" height="800" width="445" /></a> |

I think I remember seeing that Snodgrass piece years ago...That's weird they aren't showing, they are showing in my browser...

When I "quote" your text, I can see that there is something pasted there; but, the photos do not show. I tried with both Firefox and IExplorer.

Ok, this should finally do it lol. This is a small sampling of the hundred or so HOF Auto Rookies.

Really nice cards. Glad we can finally see 'em. Your Marquard reminds me of a Wheat I once owned...
<a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/pY372ikPOQ4I43AyiXWFkYRT3dysq2WPtX5u9gk-z0Y?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-GyzNILVVBUs/SqBnHtAFCyI/AAAAAAAAHQg/-rz9IvcQ-UQ/s800/T206%2520Wheat%2520%2528Green%2520Ink%2529.jpg" height="441" width="267" /></a> I was able to trade this one because I already had this one (thanks again James!)... <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Dfp_VbnYzfre18AQ9yY9xziJm_Z5QsNdec5_I7WHZRE?feat=e mbedwebsite"><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-zCEQKm486Jw/Rxk7T3tTkFI/AAAAAAAAB_E/YFK5tV4DFjA/s800/Wheat%2520Auto%2520SGC%2520A.JPG" height="643" width="800" /></a> And now I also have this one: <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/N3p_7e6yBOP4PTNtSjQqDTiJm_Z5QsNdec5_I7WHZRE?feat=e mbedwebsite"><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-hyWgCvwrVkk/TlGEyBCy0EI/AAAAAAAAJXY/xGdpZZvb51g/s800/Wheat_SGC_40.jpg" height="800" width="488" /></a> FWIW -- I would also trade James' old dual-signed Wheat for some meaningful upgrades or additions to my signed T206 collection. |
Third-times the charm, I hneed to dig up some of my scans of my others.
Love those Wheat's, one is from the Morey collection right? I would love to pick one up, or even get a new Marquard, auto is so faint. |
Top and bottom ones come from the Morey collection -- the top one he held on to through the Mastro sale; the bottom one he sold through Mastro.
