By 1949 there already was a collectors' club that got together for regular meetings, had a list of officers, and paid yearly dues. And Jefferson Burdick was their honorary president. Now that is cool, and a really early look at an organized hobby.

---and I'll bet they conducted business, made lots of trades, and had dinner in less than 150 posts!:p
