I Need Your Help

Fellow members,
It's been sometime since i put the hobby aside. I've run across these D issues and I need your input before I "crawl" back into the hobby. Please let me know what you think. I HAVE NOT SEEN THEM YET, but I'm going to see them tomorrow. If they are real then BINGO based on the asking price!!

If they're from a guy on Craigslist for $600 ish then they're bogus. One of my buddies actually got taken by that guy. If they're not graded and asking less than 1/10 of what they'd go for there has to be red flags.

Hi Larry- best as I can tell from the scans, they look too good to be true. And we know D304 have been reprinted.

ChiefBenderForever 02-16-2012 03:18 PM

They look fake !!!!!

thanks fellas,
oh well i guess that once in a lifetime think has not come this way yet!!:(

Second and thirded... Fakes. Sorry, Larry.

Here are a few real ones for comparison. See the color on the Brunner's back? It's a greenish color. Others are black. Most obvious difference is lack of print quality on the front. See below ones for depth of color and clarity (even on a poor condition card) compared to the ones shown.

i agree with the others but must add that I hope this doesn't get in the way
of your 'crawling' back into the hobby, as you put it.
It would be great having you around.
best,
barry

These are designated D - F A K E. Very obvious reprints with the sheen on the front and substandard graphics.

Also if you loop the name/team area, you will see a dot pattern similar to what is in the actual picture. The name/team area should not have a dot pattern at all.

Set up a Meeting to buy them in cash and bring a baseball bat as payment.

Larry, I dont do D cards at all, but that sheen on a few of them would be a red flag to me. All the best old friend... Ralph

PS bat might not be a bad idea lol, whats that old joke... I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out!

Wow...I saw this ad on the Craigslist in Michigan. This guy said he found them in an antique desk. He had shady photos on the craigslist post, but couldn't tell if they were real or not because of the picture. I emailed him, and he emailed me with the name "Alex Rodriguez" and showed me the EXACT picture you posted.
