Might as well include my Dots Miller display piece here even though some of those cards show him on another team, damn you grading holders for not having a way to write over the word Cardinals!

Unknown "Set"

Here are twelve "cards" that I obtained several years ago. They are a bit smaller than postcard size and are handcut. I believe they came off some type of product packaging but not sure, ANY HELP??

great cards, Scott. Makes sense they would have been on local packaging. Hmmmm. Really makes you wonder. Could have been anything. Can you show a pic of one of the backs and describe the cardboard/paper?
Also, the font on the Tommy Leach and Fred Clarke cards (look at the word Pittsburgh) is different from each other and the rest of the cards. Though seemingly they are from the same grouping. Also interesting the different photos. Looks like they took what was available to them and just ran with it. Valentine's Day Chocolate boxes? JK |
Scott,
Fantastic! I have never seen those before. |
Deleted.

In regards to the ones I posted, they are about the thickness of a T3, medium card stock, not as thick as a W600, but thicker than a T206 or post card, bit of a gray hue, the fronts are clay coated paper it appears.
All but two are Horner photos as you see, I never caught the two different Pittsburg/h spellings. I suppose they could have been made at a later date, but I doubt it, they pretty much are the core of the '09 team , why would you commemorate them years later? Some of the backs have marks from contents it kind of looks like. I suppose it's also possible they were cut apart from an ad of some type, but if they did they further cut them down as none of the sides match up. Also you will see that two have a hint of red/orange border to them as well. These were originally sold in an Auction back east circa 2002 or so. I have asked many hobby vets about them and each has never seen anything like them. |

Scott (sb1)- that "unknown" set is really cool! i did a double-take, but correct me if i'm wrong, but the word "Pittsburgh" on their jerseys was added later? as we know the original Wagner photo has no name on the jersey (image below)...
also- here are my Pitt T206's |
