Too Good to be True?

I can't find anything wrong with it... but it seems sketchy. Seller has a few other raw nice cards too and claims them to be legit.

Too good to be true? Yes, but not really sketchy.

In the description he does state:
" This card has been rebacked, meaning that someone at one time placed this very rare original tolstoi backing on the Mathewson to make is more desirable of a card. This Mathewson would be considered ultered and not receive a techincal grade but deemed authentic."

Got it... Will be interesting to see what that sells for.

apparantly he struggles in spelling 'altered'

Maybe he means that SGC/PSA will grade this card with their new classification of "ULTERED"

I noticed that as well since it carried over to other auctions. I have my issues with grammatical and spelling errors also (I had to look up how to spell grammatical), so I just let it go.

In the end it really only matters that the seller is honest about their listings.

I personally believe his spelling of 'altered' has been altered. He should send that sentence off to a TPG and get them to uthenticate it.
