Heads up for this seller

I just sold this card with the description stating the card is trimmed. http://www.ebay.com/itm/280800230637...84.m1559.l2649

As soon as the buyer gets the card she puts it back on and says nothing of the trimming. I hope it sells for $10. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-11-T206...item256c0687c1

Can't flea bay do something bout that crap?

vintagetoppsguy 01-30-2012 09:04 AM

Not trying to be nit picky, but you actually said, "The reason it's still ungraded is because I believe it's been trimmed..."

Maybe the buyer didn't believe it was trimmed.

If you would have said it was rejected by (insert TPG here) as trimmed, then that would be totally different.

Fair Point

Fair point David. Hopefully buyers can see the pretty obvious t/b trimming

Agreed. This ebayer took the one tiny gap in the previous listing and exploited it. You could surf off of the waves on the bottom of this card. That ebayer knew exactly what they were doing imo.....It will bite them one way or the other...

Nice card either way.

$100 for a trimmed bresnahan...i'd be sending her a thank you note.

bunst 01-30-2012 09:59 AM

That happened to me also. I clearly said it was trimmed in both the title and description. Buyer then lists it without reference to it being trimmed and it sells for 3 times as much. I think he got away with it because he got positive feedback. It doesn't pay to be honest.

But would you be thanking her if you just got into the hobby and bought this card thinking it wasn't trimmed?

Phillies*phan 01-30-2012 10:08 AM

I'm just saying, Don't bid, It's trimmed.

i was speaking more toward the OP.

ebay protects the buyer 100%. the lady will be screwed twice, buying the card for $100 and when the new buyer discovers card is trimmed she will have more problems. imo it's 50/50 she can still get her money back from the OP through ebay with the language in the original auction.

I understood you were speaking to the OP and I agree with that. I just looked at the poor schmuck who might buy this unknowing it is trimmed. Actually, as long as it is described correctly it is a very nice card. Heck, for collectors on a budget it's a super card, again, if advertised correctly.

Here's a thread about the same seller just a week or 2 ago trying to sell a mislabeled card for big money.

Doug, you are stating here it is trimmed, but in your listing you state "I believe it is trimmed", I'm just saying I feel there is a difference, IMHO. You are a great seller, I am just pointing out what I feel to be a slight discrepancy.

dstraate 01-30-2012 11:12 AM

She also sold a trimmed Cobb that wasn't labed in the description. That one was a hack job though. Either way, 32 feedback and this many issues? That's a block seller for me.

Agreed in all respects. People should always "buyer beware" when a card this nice is not graded. then again, you always see trimmed cards in slabs!
