Two grand?

Thoughts? Two grand with significant writing on the reverse, a bit excessive?

I know very little about T206s but it does say, "advanced collectors value period writing"

-could be as simple as that

They graded it a 1.5; I think that's consistent with their grading policy.

Somebody bid (not me).

asoriano 01-29-2012 08:45 PM

I think it's a pretty sweet combo. Grading is consistent, even with that amount writing on the reverse.

atx840 01-29-2012 08:55 PM

I have a few from the same collector with similar grade. Must be someone going after a moustache back run.

Only one bidder - the price is irrelevant.

Pup6913 01-29-2012 09:52 PM

I guess T206's will become the first known cards with stats now huh:eek:

Joking aside it's a neat card and it looks to have a "printers mark" on the top center of the port.?

Not that it would make this card worth $2,000, but the writing on back is consistent with D311 cards I have that originally belonged to Buck Barker, who was an early baseball historian as well as a legendary collector.

Wite3 01-29-2012 11:41 PM

I agree, that does look like Buck's writing...I have a Dooin with the same writing and was once told it looked like Barker's writing.
The good news is the one broadleaf example I have is a Titus also...mine does not have the same eye appeal but I paid about $25 for it about 20 years ago!

at least one person thinks its a decent price.

CMIZ5290 01-30-2012 06:22 AM

That card is somewhat intriguing.... Very tough, low pop. Card

St. L?

Does anyone know what the "St L N. 1918-20" is referring to? He was sold to Kansas City in 1914 and played for them through 1915 when his career ended...

Period writing has to be at least 10 years after issuance since those later stats are included. Looks like a ball point pen also.

I think SGC told me writing on card = SGC 10 when I submitted this one :-( Should I ask for a redo.
