Done Anyone have a Time Machine?
 

Does anyone have a time machine? If so, can I borrow it?
I was bored tonight, so I was flipping through the May, 1982 issue of The Trader Speaks magazine and found some bargains for sale. I would have just turned 10 years old the month this came out, but I wish I would have had some devine intervention to tell me to purchase some of these cards:

1. 1915 Cracker Jack Honus Wagner Vg-Ex for $125
2. 1910 Obak Buck Weaver EX for $10 :eek:
3. 1908 E90-1 Christy Mathewson Vg for $20
4. There was an auction with a COMPLETE SET of BOSTON GARTERS with a minimum bid of $2,000. I wonder what it went for?????

As a ten year old, I probably would have bought the KMART set for $2.50, and some dealer had a stack of 25 1982 Donruss Bob Horners for $10.00.

HMMM... The Horners or the Obak Weaver? How could I ever decide which one to buy????:rolleyes:

You can use mine but it only goes back as far as 1988 ! I love looking at those old publications and thinking of all the great cards I passed up to buy loads of 1988 Topps that would be valuable . Laughs on me , if we had a time machine someone would have beat us to all those great deals anyway . Brett

I think I spent all my money as a kid on 83 Fleer to accumulate my fine collection of Ron Kittle rookies. I'm still waiting for these to escalate in value....although they are priceless for the memories.

Talk to Rod Taylor--he has a working model of a time machine that gets him from time to time.

I don't recommend taking a time machine to the past. If you break down, the auto shop won't have the parts.

You can use my time machine. I just arrived from the future so that I can pick up hundreds of 1988/1989 Score factory sets. They have become the new currency in the future. :eek:

You probably shouldn't use a time machine to go back to 1982 to get autographs. Vintage autograph material wasn't nearly as available back then. Funny how that works.

Yes, you would need some plutonium for the initial run. I'd recommend going to the year 2015 first, and upgrading to the Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor, made by Fusion Industries. It should prove to be more cost-effective in the long run..

Damn, and I just sunk all my hopes into 8 pallets worth of early 90's Collegiate Collection cases from Kruk Cards.

Mr. Fusion loves those Collegiate Collection cards.. On page 6 of the manual they are listed as the preferred fuel source..

I wouldn't mind getting stuck in 1982.

If it makes you feel nostalgic, I can offer you the KMart set and the 1982 Horners at those prices. I Can't do the others though. I didn't make the right purchases either.

I was thinking more along the lines of using them to fuel my wood stove, but if they can help power my hovercraft in the very near future, I'll just rent a storage unit for them and wait it out for the foreseeable future.

I would take it back a couple of years, knowing what I know today, to avoid my current health issues. Might pick a couple of stocks and cards up while I was there.
