I'm posting to ask about a general value for this pennant. I have some money burning a hole in my pocket and I've been looking at this pennant for awhile now.

I've been told before its fairly rare. The condition looks pretty decent overall but I do know the pink is faded. It's suppose to be red and I'm not a big fan of the writing under the 1964 Champs logo on the top left.

Thoughts on the value or other information would be helpful. I do not own the pennant price guide.

Thanks in advance

It is quite rare. It looks like that exact pennant sold for 180.00 + buyer premium last July in a Huggins & Scott auction. Mike

Writing on the front of a pennant is a bit of a turn off to collectors and I usually stay away from them. That being said I wouldn't pay more for the pennant than what it sold for in Huggins & Scott even if you really want it. IMO-Hold out for a nice one.

With the fading and writing, I wouldn't pay more than $75.00 for it. If someone paid $180 for it, they paid too much, in my opinion. It just doesn't present well, at all.

Also, any time a pennant is dated and it is from a championship year, collectors really love that. In addition, that is a very attractive pennant. I would think one would have no trouble getting at least $300 for that example.

The handwriting absolutely kills it for me. I would look at that more than the pennant itself. Plus, someone obviously tried to erase it at some point (unsuccessfully). You can see the white areas under the ink.

As for the value... I guess beauty is on the eye of the beholder. It's been on ebay for an eternity, and hasn't sold for $349. This seller typically exhibits some (but not a lot of) flexibilty... so he probably won't dip below $300. Without the alteration, it's a $400 - $500 pennant, but I imagine he'll be sitting on it for quite a while longer. Just my 2 cents...

Yeah he's had it for awhile. I'm gonna hold off and try to get a nicer version without the handwriting and fading.

Thanks a lot gents!
