Typical price for poor condition Cobb T-206

What is the usual price range for Cobb (any pose) T206 cards ungraded and in poor condition? When I say poor I mean "can be missing half the card". I collect beater T206 and want to eventually add a Cobb to the lot but for as close to under $100 as I can get.
Thanks for any tips/advice.

From my experience a reasonably nice looking '1' sells for around $400. A 'well loved' one for around $300 and ones that are literally missing significant chunks of card with severe damage can likely be bought for $200 and possibly slightly less. Finding a real one for $100 would provide quite a challenge but it might be possible (just be prepared for half of a card).

I would add that it's ALWAYS possible to buy a fake card that advertised as real for $100....so if you're unsure post a scan here and we'll give you the scoop.

My two cents.

Thanks much :) It is a goal of mine to get a Cobb for under 100 bucks. The most I have paid for a card so far is 35 dollars. I'm working on The Monster Budget Set :) I paid one dollar for the top half of a Tommy Leach/Polar Bear ....but I wouldn't expect a fraction of a Cobb for under 50 .

Sounds like a fun project. I've always wondered what the least amount of money it would take to put together a T206 set - so let us know when you're done :)

Too bad I didn't see your listing a few months ago ... I sold a couple complete junkers for around $5 each - including a HOFer for $10.

Best,
S

I woulda bought em! :)
To give ya an idea of what I collect this is mine so far. Some of theme look really good (Red Ames, Wilhelm) while others look like they were attacked. To me though the blemishes are like art.

Wow! That's just crazy maybe a lot of people just want a Cobb card?

Ever thought about investing your way to a Cobb for under $100? Maybe start with $100, try flipping a few times 'til you've got a few hundred for a Cobb.

I have a really rough cobb that is mostly in one piece (both bat and tip of one corner off). I ended up getting it for $300 in trade. I think it would sell for $225-250 when I upgrade it. I don't think $100 is realistic, but I am often wrong. Good luck.

It's claimed to be impossible but I hold out hope :) I don't care if it's trimmed in half.

But then you've got to buy it twice! It'd be a cheap way to pick up a magic/bird RC though.

That's how I did it

When I first got into T206, my objective was to get all four Cobbs for "free." It took about 18 months of flipping, but by then I had all four in presentable (albeit PSA1) condition.

It broke two hundred bucks!!!

I will settle for a skinned Cobb that has been on fire :D

Bought a really nice "aged reprint" Cobb red portrait to go in my reprint album but I still need a genuine one for my T206 set.
