Nobody has an opinion??

i've been told legit williams should have the "d" and "a" closed. this rule may not always be true but i stay away from them anyway (there's always another williams).

compare to yours,,,I was standing next to him when this was signed.
|
It looks a little too sloppy to be legit. Just my opinion though.

Maybe Richard is delusional. and Ted KUBIAK sat next to him and signed that photo of Teddy Ballgame:)
Seriously, I concur, the Bat looks pretty awful. sorry. |
Richard, I have seen that photo so many times I think you sleep with it. I have no doubt that it is an authentic signiture.:D:D:D:eek:

A little surprised at the silence!

Breaking the silence for Al,,, the bat looks good.

Thanks Richard. I myself think other than the 2 dotted (i)s it looks just about the same as the first bat post. I see he only dotted one of your (i)s but dotted both of Freds (i)s I guess everyone looks at it all differently. To me if the top one looks bad than to me the one that is in the auction I wouldnt bid on it either. Thanks again Richard Im sure now that you have said its good all the others will follow suit.
|
The 2nd bat does not resemble the first bat in any way. First bat looks very bad. Second looks fine.
|
The first bat has an open d and an open a,,,the second bat has a closed d and a closed a. That is one key to a Williams sig.

Richard,
Alls good thanks for the info. At the end of the day either one of them wont cost this board member a plug nickel.;) |
Not to mention the formation of every other letter in the first bat....
|
second bat is also upper deck authenticated, so it should be 100% good
|
I don't even know Ted's auto and I can tell there is an enormous difference between the two bats... Other than them being similar bat/ink combos nothing is the same... First is ugly and sloppy and disgusting... Second is nice and flows.
Compare them side by side... It's pretty easy to see Good http://www.net54baseball.com/attachm...1&d=1330629027 Bad http://www.net54baseball.com/attachm...1&d=1326744964 |
1939 Ted Williams Original Signed Photo

Well if we are talking about Ted Williams signed stuff---how about my 1939 signed photo taking at spring training--signed on both sides---early Ted Signatures before he perfected his beautyful signature--I hope the scans are clear enough, I dont want to take it out of holder. thanks, Don

Thanks for the opinions, even if I didn't really want to hear them. The good news for me is the dealer, whom I've respected, is taking the bat back with zero hesitation.
This is why I collect the Harvey Gentry's of the baseball world. Ken earlywynnfan5@Hotmail.com |
