Anyone open to a straight trade for the Cobb check? It presents very nicely.

Don't know if you collect items other then baseball, but I'd be willing to do a straight trade for this.

Great signed letter of Enrico Fermi, famous physicist that led the US into the Atomic Age during WWII, comes with original mailing envelope.. Letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA and the piece is handsomely presented in a binder, along with a portrait of Fermi and a descriptive plaque.

I appreciate the interest, but I will have to pass

Bump, ready to trade or sell

I'll testify that science Nobel Prize winner autographs are always in high demand.

PSA resented Fermi who resented his homeland

In the middle of the paragraph........"Both the letter and envelope are exquisitely resented together in a four-page leather-bound display folder, ......."

Later near the bottom.......".....tone of the letter also suggest Fermi still harbored ill feelings toward his homeland......"

Perhaps PSA is concerned about WMDs. Just a thought. Hmmm....

To tie this into the thread I had the opportunity to purchase Cobb checks 20 years ago and passed. I also took care of Al Stump. If I had only known...

My Fermi letter sold a few days after my post.

For those that have been PM'ing interest, thanks but it's sold so it's no longer available.

Pete, didn't mean to turn your Cobb check thread into a Fermi thread, but at least you get a free bump every time someone posts about it :)

Take care,

Mike

Mike

chicks dig nobel prize winners!

Congrats on the sale of the Femi. I appreciate all the bumps, kinda funny how that is getting me all of the bumps.

drc 03-03-2012 01:36 PM

One more bump then.

One of my favorite autograph collecting ares is science Nobel Prize winners. As they're lab directors or professors or deans, the autographs often come with a LOA from his secretary on institution letterhead. The secretary was just handling the mail, but it offers the autograph owner great provenance.
