Your ultimate "find"
 

You have an great aunt who met another elderly lady who owns a few dozen old baseball cards that she knows nothing about. Your great aunt knows that you collect and tells her new friend that you would be more than happy to meet with her and discuss the cards. You meet at the lady's house on a Saturday afternoon. After appropriate introductions, you walk over to the dining room table and your jaw drops to the floor when you see a ??? in mint condition.

What is the ???, real or imagined?

I have 2... I purchased a lot of 180 t206s for $2000 in 2009. inside i was surprised to see 3 blank back southern leaguers and a red hindu. thats probably my best "find"...

The 2nd great find I had was while searching for pictures online of ghost images... I came to find a t206 ghost image... which I clicked on and took me to a link of the card for sale on sportsmemorbilia.com .....there is was.. a ghost image listed for sale in the strangest of all places.. I called up figuring it was an old picture and had been sold... but they told me it was still for sale... and I purchased it.

In 1979 I picked up 2 scrap books full of N 172 and N 173 cards plus a 3rd bound scrap book full of non sport N cards. My favorite piece was a schedule from the 1888 Boston Nationals, although it's value is/was a fraction of the value of the cards!
In the mid 1980's through a relative I was introduced to a couple that sold me a large holding of 1952 Topps loaded with mint high numbers. Also in the group were a hundred or so crisp mint 1953 Bowman Color cards.
Recently, my Aunt sold me a bunch of 1980's factory sets! I felt obligated to buy them considering she led me to the above 50's find!
I wish I had a video of the 1880's scrap books!

If the question is "what is your top card on your wish list" then I guess mine would be a Baltimore News Ruth (both colors while we are at it). If the question is "what was your best find" then I guess it would be an E90-2 Wagner, on ebay, that led to a collection of over 730 outside-of-the-hobby vintage baseball cards. Here are 2 from that find which I still own.

T206 Wagner. Ho hum. Though I'd settle for a Baltimore News Ruth. :D

I also hope to find an out of the hobby 1948 Leaf Rocky Graziano.

Ramly find(day dreaming)
 

When I pick myself off the floor after seeing the beautiful Ramly T204s in mint condition that my aunts friend has kept since she got them back in 1909 .I search through the pile to find some of my favorites Cheif Bender, Ed Cicotte, Three Finger Brown, and of course the last cards in the stack not one but TWO Walter Johnsons!!! If yor going to dream ,dream big! Brett

I would probably be most pleased to find a low grade T206 Plank. Anything nicer and I would feel obligated to sell it...and I have a "filler" (net a genuine one) for the Wagner, I"m pretty happy with intellectually.

A roll of Marshall Big Green Ashland Oil cards would also be nice.

From a fantasy, nobody but me would care but me standpoint, a couple of unreleased national chichle cards of Jackie Hunt and John "The Sheik of Seth" Zantoni, Marshall All Americans.

I would probably end up with 800 1988 Donruss Tommy Gregg rookies (they would go perfectly with the 800 I already have).

I'd be ecstatic with a group of D380's in superb condition.

My second choice would be a clean group of Kalamazoo Bats.

A T205 Wagner proof.

The old lady would be Elmer Millers granddaughter and she had every variety of Elmer Miller card ever made in mint condition and she wanted to keep the collection in the family with someone that knew the emotional value of the cards. Along with the elusive t206 Honus Wagner.
