WTB: Cope's Golfer "An Enthusiast"
Looking for a low grade 2-4 version of "An Enthusiast" from the 1900 Cope's Golfers set.
|
I have about 10 or so duplicates in the set..... I will check this weekend to see if one of the duplicates is the card you are looking for.
|
Sounds good, thanks!
|
don't have the card you are looking for
my dupes in the set are 12, 18, 27, 37, 42, and 50.
I don't have a dupe of the card you are looking for. |
Do you have their grades and an asking price? Thanks for taking the time to look through your collection.
|
I scanned the front and backs of the cards and they are shown below.
I don't really have price in mind..... do you have anything to trade? any Old Tom? http://www.internetville.com/stuff/all_frontBacks.jpg |
This is my first venture into Cope's. I am unsure on the scarcities and such so I don't want to lowball you on any cards. I have seen "Lost Ball" go in the range of 30-40 in similar condition both graded and ungraded $37.50. The others I'm pretty unfamiliar with at this point, but any insight or useful links would be much appreciated.

Its been a while since I have tracked the prices on these.
The Robertson and the Laidlay would be the most expensive of the bunch I am sure. Maybe Dave - or someone else here could give us an opinion on fair value. |
Alrighty, sounds fair. Only Lost Ball card I can find currently http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Cop...#ht_500wt_1202

Hi guys,
Joe - those are some great looking cards for the grades!! As a comparison, I sold some very similar PSA 2's on eBay earlier this year (yours might be even a bit nicer), and they went in the $35-$40 range if I remember. Mine just had a bit of tape on the backs, knocking the grade down. Sample of one attached. If I had to put estimates, I would say the common 2's would be $40-ish, the 4 might be $100-125? (I bought a Ball in a PSA 4 earlier this year for about $115.) And if you're going to sell the Robertson, let me know, since that looks nicer than the one in my set! Scott |
I agree with those prices, the Robertson is a toughie, and a world golf hall of fame member, his only card. I should go for a bit more.
|
Dave -
where would you ballpark($) the Robertson card at? |
Robertsons typically sell in a close proximity to the values of the Morris Sr and Jr (at least when I have owned and sold some) So....the Robertson 2 - based on eye appeal etc, (it looks darn nice for a 2) I think is $125-150 ish on the high end, but at least $100
|
I'd be interested in the Robertson in the future, but at this moment am just putting my foot in the water with Cope's. Looking for a set to collect with my dad (I'll buy him this first card, and then we will get each other cards on future holiday's, birthdays, etc.).
Lost Ball for $40.00? |
$40 for the 'Lost Ball' sounds good.
Please add $5 for shipping/insurance. You can paypal the money to me at joe@internetville.com If anyone else is interested - The three other commons are $40 each The Laidlay is $125 The Robertson is $200 With any purchase add $5 for shipping and insurance. Scott gets first dibs on the Robertson - because he asked for a shot at it. All other cards are first-come first-served. If Scott passes on the Robertson it will be first-come first served (if you want it post here and you will be put next in line). Thanks, Joe |
Payment sent. I'll let you know when I get it, thanks! Also, could it be shipped relatively quickly? Hoping to give it X-mas day to my pops :)
|
I see the payment -
I will ship it out tomorrow and will PM tracking info to you. |

Card arrived. Expertly shipped, super quick, and most importantly LOVE the card! It's one thing seeing it in a scan, but holding it and looking at it in my hand makes me smile :). Thanks a ton Joe!
