Ripped those items apart

The expert doesn't even know how to pronounce "louisville slugger" or Hillerich but he can tell if a Ruth signature is genuine. Funny stuff.
|
indeed. Plus, Matty couldn't have signed it right till 29, unless he signed it from Heaven.ha.
Looks like they got one right. |
One of the COAs was issued by Donald Frangipani and the other from Frank Garo.
|
funny and ....

The signatures were really bad and I was glad to hear the "expert" deem them fake but what really gets me is that their "expert" who has a shop in Vegas doesn't know how to pronounce Hillerich from Hillerich and Brasdby. You would think in all his time in the hobby he would have heard the proper pronunciation of the name sake in making baseball bats.

Did anyone notice the unique baseball item in the new American Pickers episode last night? When the camera first started panning around the home of the auctioneer (just before the Hopalong Cassidy sweater), there was a 2-3 second shot of a large die-cut baseball sign -- it appeared to be some sort of tribute to Kirby Farrell and the Erie Sailors.

No, I missed that. When I watch them again online this week, I'll keep an eye out. |

Yes, I did see that sign, but wasn't sure what it was. What was funny about the bat and glove on Pawn Stars, my wife, who knows nothing about sports memorabilia, made the comment, "they look like they were signed with a sharpie"!

PAWN STARS Ruth and Mathewson signed bat
It was at least interesting to watch and entertaining. If the signatures had been that old, ink/pen wear would have been shown on the glove and the bat. Most early signatures are on photos, balls, paper items etc.

My first thought was that this was a setup to make them look good after that bogus Gehrig jersey they "bought" a while back.

Did you notice that the seller laughed and wasn't too bummed at the end of it? He must've known they were bogus. He was the only seller that didn't want someone from the outside coming in. He knew it was a sham.

I watched a repeat of the show tonight and I was thinking it would have been very interesting to watch Drew Max examine those pieces and to hear his "opinion" on the Donald Frangipani COA. That would have been priceless!!!
|
thats may be why he wasnt on that episode, had certs from his own profession, so maybe he passed.
