Is this rare?

I know I've seen a lot of overprints but not sure if i ever saw any that totally missed the factory number. Does anyone else have a double factory number back?

christopher.herman 11-06-2011 11:14 AM

Doug, agreed. Since I collect strictly T206 SC's, I have seen and own plenty of overprints and have never seen one that completely misses like that. Some are higher or lower but none that much off. Nice find.
Q. #1: Who is the player?
Q. #2: Any interest in selling or trading?

I've seen a few with double factory numbers. I don't think they are real rare but are uncommon. It's nice to have an above and below overprint in a T206 collection. Here is one that I purchased a few days ago.:D

Funny you posted that card. Mine is from the same print run. I figured if one is wrong in the run, than all the cards would be.

I have seen a few of these but they don't come up often or if they do, most sellers don't mention it. Here's a Bender that came up recently (not mine).

It also has the printer marks discussed in another thread.

Doug - That's a really cool card. I'll agree with others that it's not rare but not something you see everyday. If you want one, and look hard enough, you will find one.

All 109 subjects in the 460 Series were overprinted with this back increasing the chances of some of the overprints not being lined up correctly with the sheet.

The Factory 649 OP's in the 150 Series had similar quality control issues at times. I don't have one that shows both factory numbers completely but I do have these two.

just by the numbers you can get the scroll easier than the solid bar overprint.
There are 109 scroll Sweet Caporal and 34 solid bar Sweet Caporal overprints.

Checked my other Pastorius and found it wasn't misaligned but see-through.
