What's up with these E91s?
2 Attachment(s)
I came across these 2 E91's that used the exact same picture except for the team name. Are there any others in the set that share the same picture? If you have them, please show.

Howard, in short YES there is. The (3) E91 sets are all comprised of the same 33 photos/images. As they would remove one player to add another in a subsequent set they simply reused the same photo and just changed the team name/colors a little etc. and just made a new card. Which is why for example the E91-3 Honus Wagner looks suspiciously like Joe Tinker, as the image was first used to depict Tinker in the E91-1 set. A search of old threads will reveal more than what I have written but the above is a short summary.

It's generally not that appealing of a set, but there are a few 'real' player images in the set, such as Ed Reulbach. That's actually one of my favorite Reulbach cards.

Rhett,
Thanks for the explanation. Can't believe that I never noticed that until today. The great thing about this hobby is that you can learn something new everyday. :) Thanks! |
The E91 Joe Tinker picture is also used for Honus Wagner's E91 card. I realized this when I had the Wagner
Looks like someone already said this |

The thread attached will show you more than you ever wanted to know about the E91 sets, and you might just come away realizing that they aren't so bad after all.
