A few of Lou
All type 1's
Late 1920s with Bengough doing a little home improvement. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...oughatHome.jpg OK he's not technically in a suit, but he does not have a uniform on if that is close enough! From Christy Walsh's personal scrapbook Lou with Christy Walsh Jr. (TY Jimmy!) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...styWalshJr.jpg Lou and Eleanor after getting married. 1933 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ithEleanor.jpg Christy Walsh's Sports Parade. His stable of talent. I know a couple. Schacht, McCarthy, Ruth(inserted), Bergen, Walsh(back row), and Lou. Anyone recognize the others? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ortsParade.jpg Lou in the movie Rawhide in 1938. From Christy Walsh's family. It looks so much better in person. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...deCarKnapp.jpg |

Spectacular photo Jimmy!! I have a number of images with Mickey in a variety of suits as well as semi-birthday poses. Can't get to them at the moment as I'm doing some "home remodeling" and just to be safe, removed almost all of my photos to my brother's house. All I can post now are images from auction sites of items that I won.
Hopefully, this won't last too long (fingers crossed) and I can share some of this stuff with all you guys. Aside from individuals of interest, seems we are both fascinated with these images and events "frozen in time". Craig |

For some odd reason I actually prefer some of these shots to those in uniform. Heres my contribution of Ty Cobb, Joe Dimaggio, Jackie Robinson, Fidel Castro, and Landis.

This might be my favorite "suits" photo, as it shows the great DiMaggio posing for the press as he had just announced his retirement on December 11, 1951
Attachment 46950 Note: This was one of my photographs that was featured in Harvey Frommer's 2008 Book entitled "Remembering Yankee Stadium" which is a must for any Yankee fan. |
I have a group of about 125 snapshots from outside of Cleveland Stadium in the late 30's early 40's 2/3's in suits rest are in uniform.
if anyone is interested |
Funny, I looked at the Connie Mack cabinet photo before the identifying info and thought that it was Mack right away. I guess that's a good sign (or I don't know what I am talking about)

Well since I'm the base ball guy thought I'd chip in an image from my book. Here's the top brass inspecting the so called "lively ball".

Any update on when the book will be available for sale? |
Since Max opened the door for cards, I'm going to take the liberty to post a few beater cards of men in suits too. (Please forgive that these aren't memorabilia.)

That's a great item Steve. That's Jim Stanley between 1 and 2. I wonder why he didn't get a number.
|
Thanks Mark,
This photo belonged to Dutch Zwilling. He ID'd Stanley as #2. That portly codger in the back is unknown. I have a scan of the back somewhere. The boys must be on a break from that grueling Fed training regimen. *Note the bullet holes in skully's R temple |
