I think this Harry Coveleskie card dates to the 1920s. Anyone have a more accurate date or disagree? Also, any other Giant Killer cards or misc. would be great to be seen.....regards

According to this article Coveleskie opened a cafe in 1930 but got into trouble for serving alcohol during Prohibition. He opened his tavern, the Giant Killer, some time later so this card would have to be from the 30's or later. That makes sense to me because Harry looks a little old and his son appears all grown up.

Thanks Howard. I will amend my description on my website to circa 1930s....

There's an interesting account of Coveleski's career in "The Glory of Their Times." I believe it comes from his brother, Stan. He talks about how many people believed the pitcher was heckled out of the league after his remarkable performance against the Giants in '08. Stan said arm trouble is what really knocked him out the league. Stan also points out that Harry later had considerable success pitching for the Tigers ...

By the way, can someone post an image of Harry's T3? It's one of the coolest cards I've ever seen ...

I don't have a T3, but here's his Police Gazette supplement, dated July 3, 1909.

The caption reads "The Crack Twirler of the Philadelphia National League Team Whose Work in the Box Last Season Cost the Giants the Championship"

Wow. The colors on that T3 are amazing.

This pales in comparison, but here is the second of his Police Gazette supplements, this one dated June 9, 1917.
