Spamming today and yesterday
 

I hate to put up so many operationally related threads but they are what they are. It seems as one of the BOTs, or trolls, made it through our software and was spamming members. That troll registered but was never approved. We get around 200 of those a day that I weed through and delete. Almost none of them make it through our registration process or have the ability to post or email, but this one did. I think this has happened about 2-3 times in 2 1/2 yrs now. It will happen again too but hopefully not frequently. That one has now been banned but there were some spam emails about a $500 football helmet, or something, put out. Just letting everyone know it should be fixed now and I am aware of it. I probably had about 5 emails and PM's concerning it and appreciate folks letting me know. best regards

I got a PM from member "HepGrerISkera" and it read:

Subject line: Hey whats up?

PM: Hows it going I just wanted to show you how I got a $500 NFL shop card for just entering my zip code see for your self
Click here to get yours

Then I noticed it said "banned" under his username, so I figured you were already all over it. Thanks for the quick action, Leon.

I just got a private message from someone offering a link to nude pictures of Kalista and friend. As tempting as that sounds I deleted it. Please be on notice someone else is spamming.

I emailed Leon about it already.

I think you should attempt to download the pics. If it works, PM them to me. :D

If not, I'm sure you'll get some nasty virus. :(

Yeah, I was joking. It's not safe to click on links like that. I got an email from a friend a couple of days ago and it had a link that contained a virus. Come to find out her email account had been hacked. I have the corporate edition of Norton Anitvirus and a really good spyware blocker on my machine so it blocked the intrusion, but my point is that you've got to be careful about links like that even when you think it's from a trusted source.

I got the same PM as Barry and just deleted it-I am pretty sure the nude celebrity photos were of Leon :eek: :rolleyes:

Jim- if the nude photos were of me I am sure I would be flooded with Cease and Desist orders!! :o

I got a PM early this morning concerning this new spammer. I checked the registration and again, they weren't approved, but were able to post. Not sure how that is happening but just keep letting me know and I will keep trying to curtail it. I believe (knock on wood) if I ban them, which I do asap, it keeps it from continuing. Thanks for the help folks.
